Countdown ..... 1 more week

So here we are....1 week to go until we leave germany for good.
The move went smooth so far, but since it is the first PCS move for me, I stressed out a little I think. I hope that no one around me really caught it, but I was pretty nervous. The movers were here for 2 days. In those 2 days I felt the worst because I kept thinking that I should check the house again for clothes or items I could get in my suitcase. Luckily did DH take care of all of that. He stayed with the movers while I moved with Isabella to our friends' house ( closer to base and away from the moving process ).
We are now here for a few days and appreciate it a lot. This is so much better than army lodging. We BBQ, hang out, watch movies in the evening and just have a great time. We are trying not to become a burden though, since we pretty much "moved in" with lots of suitcases and a 5 months old baby. Ha!
Isabella does pretty good I think. She was a little off that day we came over here, but readjusted right away. It is like she has never been anywhere else. :) We now just have to do a few more things, as filling up the oil tanks in the house, sending off a few things. My parents are planning on coming over one more time to say good bye. I am looking forward to that day but I am not if that makes sense. :( I know that we all are going to cry. I know that it has been hard on my mom especially with Isabella now. I know that I am taking her ( so far ) only grandchild with me, which she has looking forward to for so long :( :( We did make plans for Xmas though, and they are seriously planning to visit us for a few weeks. It is just odd and a weird feeling. I do start to see some things a little different just like going down to the city and realizing I won't be back for a long time.....and such things. DH and I both agree that we are going to miss our friends like crazy. I am not sure if we will find such great friends in TX since everything is going to be a little different than here in germany. I love the group and support we have here......But......we made our decision for good reasons and we are happy that we got a non deployment position for now.
Anyhoo..just random thoughts of course. I am looking forward to move and see family in the states nevertheless. We won't be in our new house until June, and took leave to see family. I am really happy and can't wait.

Moving

Today is the day: we are sitting on our suitcases and are waiting for the movers to show up. The last few days have been busy and stressful for me. It is a difference if you are just husband and wife or if you have a little baby aswell. Before I stressed out anyway trying not to forget anything but with Isabella now, I had to worry about her stuff too. Luckily and thankfully Pate is very very organized. He took care of most of the things while I had to pack my and Isa's suitcase.
We then had to seperate lots of stuff what we do not want them to pack, like stuff we want to give away or are sold to friends. Eventually we got everything done though. While Pate is now resting on the couch, Isabella still sleeping upstairs, I am writing this and waiting for the movers to show up.
I ran to the backery and got pastries and made coffee for them. I hope that everything will go smoothly today.

We then will move in with one of our friends tonight and stay with them the rest 2 weeks. We are truly blessed having such great friends.

Countown 6 more weeks

6 more weeks until we are moving to the states. I am excited but nervous too. Never PCSed over seas, and now with Isabella we are talking about a whole new experience. I am looking forward to it though too. Finally will be able to see family statesside again ! Miss you all !

Decision

I made a decision. I will keep this blog and will restart ( will keep the pictures of course ) when we move to Texas to upload pictures of our move and such things.
